Welcome! I started this blog a few years ago when I realized that I love writing and I love good food and realized that maybe I should combine the two. While I chose not to follow a career in the food industry, I knew I had to make food a more prominent feature in my life. From a young age I enjoyed good food. By age ten, I was eating Stilton, chilled cherry soups, pungent imported cheese, and sneaking into the kitchen to cook even though I was not allowed to use the stove because I was too young. I eschewed things like Velveeta and boxed mac and cheese mix. I made a very difficult overnight guest unless I was staying in my best friend’s house at the time, who was French.
Things you will find in this blog:
My restaurant “reviews” where I pretend to be a food critic.
Recipes, either my own or somebody else’s.
Me ranting about restaurants or foods I hate.
My recipes where I take traditional recipes and make them healthier and less fattening WITHOUT compromising food or nutrients. After all, we are foodies and we never compromise flavor.
- Topics that don’t involve restaurants or cooking but relate to food on some level.
Things I love:
- Weird and exotic food. The stranger it sounds, the more likely I am to order it.
- Anchovies and sardines.
- Pungent blue cheese.
- Grilled octopus
- Ethnic food
- Good cheese
- Raw oysters
- Dark chocolate
- Good, strong coffee.
- Good beer, especially Hobgoblin.
- Making gumbo from scratch.
- All things truffle.
- Goat cheese.
And the picture at the top? That was a picture that my husband took on one of our many food adventures in Santorini, Greece.
